April Favourites

The clue to this post is in the title! The products I’ve been reaching for all month!

A dupe for the Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow cream, this feel amazing on the skin and a pea size amount really goes such a long way! Skin feels hydrated, smoothed and prepped for foundation, but can also be mixed with foundation to give a more dewy look. I’ve even thought it would work beautifully on its own in the summer for a really beautiful natural glow, without any coverage. Great for dry skins who are finding their foundation is drying their skin more.

The lip pencil that changed my perspective on lip pencils! I’ve be totally converted to lip pencils since I bought this. The ‘perfect nude’ for pretty much everyone, long lasting, and non drying. Looks great on its own as well as under lippy! Adding more of these to my wishlist right now!!

I did a post a couple of weeks ago about my ‘nude’ lipstick collection, this is an absolute staple for me now! A great nude that isn’t too brown. Looks fab with a super smokey eye and equally chic with neutral look too! And the packaging is so luxurious, I love taking it out of my bag on a night out!

An unusual shade choice for me, but I totally fell in love with the ‘look’ on the CT counter in Birmingham. When I had my makeover done I knew I couldn’t leave without this in my possession, and I’ve not regretted it at all! I reach for it days and evenings alike and am loving the versatility of the shades! The quality of the shadows and especially the glitter are a dream to blend and never budge while worn!

This has made me love the ritual of cleansing. I use this as my second cleanse and massage and breathe in the beautiful aromatic scent as I’m doing it. It’s extremely gentle, even around the eyes, and I always feel squeaky clean when using the muslin cloth to remove the last traces of markup and dirt from the day.

This has been part of my routine since Christmas and I love it. I confess I never used to tone – I was too lazy – even though I knew exactly how important it was to my skincare and how it worked, but since adding this to my routine I am religious with it!  I put it down to this that my skin feels so soft and smooth every day. The odd blemish that appears is still a bit stubborn to remove, but this is doing a great maintenance job on my skin, and with it containing glycolic acid, it’s boosting cell renewal to keep my skin younger and fresher looking for longer! A great addition to any routine at any age!

March Favourites | The Beauty Spot

I know everyone starts a favourites post by saying how quick the month has gone, but seriously, its literally flown by!! I’ve got a few things that I’ve used a lot over the last month so, without further ado…

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze I know these have been raved about so much, but I only purchased this just before Christmas.  Its been great for me to try a new way of doing ‘everyday’ makeup.  I’ve been stuck in a bit of a rut with my winged liner and shaded crease, so to have a one wash cream shadow has been a bit of a revolution.  Even better, every time I wear it people comment on my makeup! Always winner in my book!

Mark Hill Curling Wand A new addition to my hair arsenal, but one I’ve been reaching for after every wash! My GHD’s have been pushed aside in favour of gorgeous easy to wear curls.  A winner for me! A full review of this wand can be found (HERE).

Maybelline Coloassal Volum’ Express Smokey Eyes Mascara Wow, epic name for a mere mascara! I have never been a drugstore mascara user, but this has got me hooked! I’ve got a few other drugstore mascaras in my stash, but this is the one that never fails to deliver! No clumping, great volume and super duper black! Nothing else to say!

Asda Oval Cosmetic Cotton Wool Pads I wasn’t sure it was possible to have a favourite cotton wool pad, but I really love these. Double the size of regular ones, and at 5 for £4 you really can’t go wrong! To be honest I’ve been using these for years, but as they are an everyday thing, I felt like it was like putting your toothpaste in your favourites!

Mini Eggs Not much I can say about these, I have a mild addiction to them every Easter ‘season’. Just can’t get enough of them!

13 loves from 2013

I didn’t do a November favourites because there wasn’t anything in particular that I had loved that I hadn’t already loved in October. I only started blogging in October so I was dead excited to do my first ‘favourites’ post, but I had already made a decision not to do them monthly if I was forcing myself to include things. November didn’t really bring me anything new, but I feel a little annual round up is a good way to bring in the New Year.
