Spring/Summer usually signals a slight change in makeup habits. This is one of my fave looks with just a few products. An easy daytime look than can be transformed for evening in a few minutes!

Maybelline Colour Tattoo – On and On Bronze  This has been raved about in the blogging world for years, I love the shade, texture and pay off of colour. Can be very subtle or as bronze as you like. A great base for a smokey eye as it will hold onto the other shades you use and last aaalllll day!

Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette – YDK & Blackout  These are the only two shadows I’ve used for this look. YDK as an all over wash of metallic colour and to soften the socket line. Blackout has been used to softly deepen the upper and lower lash lines.

MAC 217  This is the – dirty – brush pictured. I adore this! When I first started watching YouTube tutorials, this brush was used by everyone! I knew I needed it and now it’s an absolute staple in my collection. I’ve even just ordered another one!

Urban Decay Subversion & Perversion Mascara My absolute holy grail mascaras at the moment! I think I’ve repurchased 4 or 5 times now! Subversion is white and gives you length and volume as well as strengthening your lashes the more you use it. Perversion gives you the silkiest blackest lashes to perfectly frame your eyes. A perfect combo wanting a full false lash look!

I would say I’m a bit of a magpie, and am drawn to anything sparkly and pretty in any shape or form, and you can’t get more sparky than the Illamasqua Pure Pigments. They are stunning.

If you’re looking for a little something to add to night out makeup, this is it! Whether you go for the gunmetal grey Android or the iridescent Beguile, there’s something for every look!

I’ve ended up with quite a selection of pigments because I just can’t decide which I like best, but when you use such a teeny tiny amount of the product I knew they would last me a lifetime!

The pigment is so finely milled that you can get a great finish no matter how you apply them. I personally love using them on top of a smokey eye to really make the colour pop and stand out (seen here), but make sure you’ve done all of your blending, because excessive blending over these will move the glittery part of the pigment slightly. If you mix them with the Sealing Gel to create a paste, you have a great liquid liner (my favourite for that is Android), equally you could pack the same paste onto the mobile lid for a mega intense long lasting cream shadow. (These three ways shown – top down – in Android in the last picture: paste, as liner, alone.)

Ore is a current favourite to use during the day for a little extra sparkle on top of my Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze, and Furore is a great all rounder: use a a subtle nude colour for the lid; brow bone definition and a cheek/décolleté highlight Seriously, the possibilities are endless!

I never feel that my evening makeup is complete without using these. Despite the slightly messy packaging I will be keeping hold of these for a long while yet!

Have you tried any Illamasqua products? What are your faves?

Review: Benefit They’re Real Mascara

20140217-174949.jpg

I’m sure most of you have at least heard of Benefit They’re Real Mascara. It’s hard to have missed it recently, being one of the best selling mascaras in the country!  I picked it up in my recent Boots Haul and have been using it ever since!

I’d say mascara is one of my desert island items and is something I just cannot leave the house without. I haven’t purchased anything from Benefit before so this was a bit of whim mainly because I just kept seeing it everywhere! There were definitely signs telling me to buy it!

I have pretty good lashes but they are dark for about 2/3 of the length but very blonde at the tips, so, when I put mascara it makes a huge difference.  Having used one particular mascara for a few years I’ve been recently trying out different ones to see if they can beat it.

The thing thats great about this mascara is that it literally does not budge! If your eyes water, or you just find that mascara doesn’t last on you, give this a go! It takes me aaaages to get this off.  I sometimes feel that I’m taking too long to remove it and that I’m rubbing my eyes a bit much! But I have absolutely no concerns that by the end of the day nothing will have dropped off my lashes onto my face!

The wand is plastic with a little ball like tip at the end which is perfect for building volume at the outer corners or getting those pesky bottom lashes just right.  I do feel that the plastic is a little sharp though.  Is it just me?! I just feel that when I’m applying and getting right to the roots I can feel the plastic spearing my lash line.  Its more of a slight discomfort while applying than anything sinister but it’s just something I’ve noticed since using it.

The formula seems to be packed with fibres as thats what I see when I’m removing it at the end of the day.  This will be one of the reason why it give such good length and volume to lashes.  I am also a fan of using a white mascara base to build my lashes even more (my HG is Lancome Cils Booster; shamazing!) and with They’re Real on top you’ve got a whole lotta volume! Someone at work actually noticed I was wearing a different mascara to normal when I first wore this.

In terms of my mascara wardrobe I think this will make the cut! I like may lashes to look pretty full packed of volume all the time, so this will definitely stay in my collection.  I’m not sure if I ran out that I’d buy it immediately, but I would definitely repurchase at some point.

Have you tried this mascara before? What do you think? Whats your HG mascara?

My Guest Post!

20140122-091620.jpg

Hi everyone!

Just a super quick post to tell you about the guest post I did this week.
The lovely Taylor from Taylor’s Collectionn wanted some guest bloggers, and naturally I jumped at the chance! She uploaded my post this week so I hope you can all check it out! I wanted to do something slightly different than outfit or favourites type post, so I did a comparison of my MUA Dusk ‘Till Dawn palette to the few MAC eyeshadows I have. Head over to the post here.

And don’t forget to check out the rest of Taylor’s blog whilst you’re there!

Enjoy! xx
