Sometimes I worry that haul posts get a bit boring to read as there’s so many about. Personally, I love reading them and seeing what gems other people have picked up! Most of the things I picked up recently I’ve been able to use and can give a first impression review for you here. I have swatches the lip products and did a short video on Instagram of these products, you can find me here.

Yet again after being in Boots I’m always thinking that I should just do the ‘Blogger made me buy it tag’ because almost everything I pick up can be tracked back to a blogger! Anyone would think I don’t have mind of my own!

Revlon Colour Burst Lacquer Balm in Provocateur Femme Fatale (135)  I tried a few is these but this one really took my fancy. I also considered the matte ones too but it plumped for this one in the end. When I tried this on at home I felt that I needed a bit of a tan to be able to pull this one off, but as luck would have it I’m going to Egypt next week! #winner

Revlon Lip Butter in Sweet Tart The second one in my collection and another pink lip product! A much more sheer finish to the lips than the crayon, but the colours is beautiful. This actually suits me better than the other one I have (Strawberry Shortcake), so I think this will be a staple in my everyday makeup bag.

Rimmel Aplocalips Nova (102) A lot of ummm-ing and ahhh-ing was done when these first came out and I decided against one at the time, but now I feel I need one in my lip collection. I think I should’ve gone for a bright red as I’m not sure this is the perfect nude pink now that I’ve slightly changed hair colour. Pigmentation and staying power seem incredible though!

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze Yes, I caved! I wasn’t too keen on the other shades available in this product other than Pomegranate, but I felt this would be an easy one to wear whilst on holiday!

Loreal Skin Perfection Micellar Solution This is a repurchase for me after I had this during the summer. I loved the product, hated the packaging! But for about 3 quid, I can’t complain too much about this, especially as I can decant it if necessary. Holiday essential? ✅

Sanex Zero % Deoderant I’ve wanted to pick this up for a while after seeing some articles about the stuff that’s put into deodorants. It was discounted and was cheaper than the smaller size!

Loreal Absolute Makeup Remover Eye and Lip I can’t get enough of bi-phase eye makeup removers, they are always the best! I felt like trying something new after using Clarins, Garnier and Lancôme in the past. It took a while to remove the Benefit mascara but maybe I hadn’t mixed it properly as it separates super quick! I’ll give it another go, and will definitely use it up!

Benefit They’re Real mascara Again, I’ve caved! Nothing more to say other than I was very impressed with my first use!

Boots Smooth and Shine Hairbrush Since my hair has started skimming my shoulders I definitely need a softer brush in the mornings. I haven’t tried this yet, but anything is better than the hard brush I have now which hurts my head! 😢

Real Techniques Blush Brush Another item that’s been coveted for a while now. I’m already in love with the Buffing Brush and hope this will be a good one for my luminous powder and highlighting powders.

So that’s it… For now! Oh, I also bought some lunch and some Mini Eggs, which I try to hoard for the rest of year because I lurrrrve them!

Anyone else used these products? I’d love to know what you think of them!

WOMF #4: How much is your face worth?

20140114-071145.jpg

20140114-071208.jpg

I’ve seen this tag floating around for a while and I’ve been intrigued to see the real cost of what goes on my mug every day! This makeup was a pretty regular day, it’s my easy ‘go to’ look when I want to look like I’ve made a bit of an effort, but not gone too OTT with it all!

Here goes:
1. Real Techniques Buffing Brush (from the Core Collection, price based on cost per brush) £5.50 | 2. Crown Brush C224 Oval Camouflage Brush £3.49 | 3. Real Techniques Contour Brush £5.50 (from Core Collection) | 4. Real Techniques Powder Brush £12.99 | 4. Lancôme Eye Shadow Brush (no longer available) replacement £21 | 5. Crown Brush BK45 Deluxe Angled Liner Brush £2.19 // 6. MUA E3 £1.95 | 7. *Mystery brush* (Crown Brush IB132 Stiff Brow is similar though) £2.19 | 8. MAC 116 £27.

1. NARS Sheer Glow Foundation (Deauville) £30.50 | 2. Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer £10 | 3. Smashbox Halo To Go Hydrating Perfecting Powder (Light) £39 | 4. MAC Naked Lunch Eyeshadow £12.50 | 5. Lancôme Le Krayon Kohl (Noir) £16 | 6. Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow (Charcoal) £17 | 7. Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow (Hot Stone) £17 | 8. Maybelline Colossal Volume Smokey Eyes Mascara (Black) £7.99 | 9. Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow (Cement & Hot Stone) for brows £17 (already accounted for one of these shades) | 10. Natural Collection Powder Blush £1.99 | 11. Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick (Pink Quartz) £32 | 12. MAC Lipstick (Patisserie) £15

I literally cannot believe how many products and items I’ve just listed! When I whack it all on at 7am it doesn’t feel like that much makeup! Eeeks!

Total cost: £297.79

Ok so that is one of the most expensive I’ve seen! But, in my defence, I do get to buy quite a lot of high end makeup with a discount because of where I work. So I didn’t pay that much for everything I use! Some things I would pay the price for, others probably not; there’s some amazing quality in the drugstore these days!

Hope you enjoyed having a snoop at how much my face is worth!

Have a lovely day!
xx

Cleanser: The Current Crop

20140102-222600.jpg

Over the few years I’ve tended to reach for the same cleanser over and over.  A quick facial wash that will remove my makeup with ease and makes my skin feel squeaky clean.  However, recently I’ve been trying out a few different types of cleanser to break up my routine a bit and to hopefully improve my skin.  I will most likely do a more in-depth post about the struggles I’ve had with my skin in the new year, but for now I just wanted to talk about what cleansers I’m tending to use on a semi regular basis.

(Accidental) Mini Drugstore Haul

So I popped into Boots ‘just for a look’ and came out with 4 items… Oops! Well, it’s not a massive ‘oops’ because two of them were paid for with my Advantage Card points, winner!

I am blaming two of these items on bloggers and YouTubers! Continue reading “(Accidental) Mini Drugstore Haul”

The Starting Off Project – Skincare

Following my posts on lips and makeup tools, here is my Skincare offering. This is going to be a long one, grab a cuppa and make yourselves comfy!

Looking after your skin should be part of your routine to maintain a healthy lifestyle. As we hit puberty we all know that our body goes through huge changes and this is often the time that most people start using either skincare or makeup or, often, both. In order to achieve the makeup result you want, your skincare routine is actually the most important. It’s like wallpapering over a crack, it won’t go away and can get worse! So save yourself a lot of money and hassle and start a good routine from a young age and you’ll be halfway there. I must stress that your skin and it’s needs will change from time to time, but as long as you can notice when some elements of your routine need to change, then you will be prepared enough to deal with it without any major problems cropping up. This all comes from someone who has suffered from acne since the age of about 14, however, training as a beauty therapist made me so much more aware of things you can do to look after your skin. Equally, reading blogs and working in the industry has also helped me broaden my knowledge and feel confident in helping people choose the right skincare for them.
