A small Wishlist to curb my spending habit. Sometimes these satisfy my need to buy things, other times I just realise how much I really do want them!
Makeup Forever HD Foundation This has been on my mind for very long time now! I’m just a bit wary about purchasing online when I’ve never felt the product before or seen any colours up close. Would definitely be purchased if I was heading to the US soon!
Sigma Brush Travel Kit Make Me Crazy Perfect selection of travel brushes, in my favourite colour and complete with a holder! What’s not to love!
Urban Decay Naked 2 palette I’ve done a lot of thinking about these Naked palettes and decided that this is definitely the one I’d get most use out of. I am definitely treating myself when the counter opens in Selfridges Birmingham!
Alpha H Liquid Gold A much hyped product, but does it really work?! After my posts about my skin, I’ve been thinking I need something like this to try to reduce the redness I have. If you’ve used it please comment and let me know how you’ve got on with it. While looking for an image I found it sold by QVC 200ml for £37! (Bearing in mind the link above is £31 for 100ml that’s a steal!)
What’s on your wishlist at the moment?
I have been growing my hair from a Frankie Sandford cut for almost 12 months now. I’m at that stage where I’m bored of this ‘mid length’ and want to cut it short again! So in an effort to get my hair mojo back I treated myself to a new curling wand! I was even happier when I saw that this one was half price – cheers Boots!
The Mark Hill Salon Professional Zebra Wicked Waver has quite an unconventional shape – ahem – but gives amazing soft wavy curls.
The fact that the barrel is ‘bobbly’ means that no two curls look the same. For me this is great! I love the beach tousled look and wen you’ve run your fingers through the curls you’ve got gorgeous volume and a ‘do that’s not too done!
When purchasing this I was also looking for a heat resistant glove to use with it. Because my hair is still short, I can’t utilise the non heated bit at the end of the wand. I didn’t realise that the box actually contained two half gloves for those of use who are prone to a sizzle here and there! The gloves are great, but they’re not as flexible as you need them to be when winding hair around. I’ve tended to use them with just the finger parts and keep my thumb free. That way I can still easily section off the hair ready to curl.
I’ve been using the VO5 styling products alongside the Wicked Waver, and they’ve done a sterling job! I can’t complain at all. The mousse and Pump It Up Styling Spray both have heat protection and seem to hold the curls really well. I spray the curls with the hairspray when they’re cool and after I have tousled them out as well for extra hold.
This Mark Hill Wicked Waver has really breathed a new lease of life into my boring mid length shape! I can’t recommend it enough especially for hair my length and longer. Even better? It’s half price at Boots at the moment!
What do you swear by for the perfect curl?
Apparently I love Michael Kors! I made my first purchase last summer just after my birthday. I had fallen in love with the Large Selma over a crowded handbag department and knew it must be mine! Since then I’ve added a few other items to the family: matching laptop sleeve (obviously!), small summer clutch bag, Runway watch (thanks Santa!) and sunglasses courtesy of duty free!
In my defence, I wasn’t specifically looking for Kors sunglasses or a Kors clutch, they just happened to be the items that grabbed me more than the competition. Now my wishlist is growing and I’d love a couple of other bags to add to my collection. Sorry not sorry…!
Comment ‘snap’ and tell me which items you have!
Happy hump day! :o)
For some reason, Christmases and birthdays in my house always seem to end up with some sort of theme for the gift receivers. This year, my theme seemed to be makeup bags. I have gone from a small collection of gift with purchase bags, to quite a nice collection (IMO) of makeup bags for just about any occasion! Now maybe this isn’t such a coincidence as I did purchase 2 for myself, then wasn’t allowed to use one until Christmas day, and I had forgotten that I had asked family for a couple of other types of makeup bags which I also got for Christmas.
I’m not exactly a very regular traveller, but I do often need a selection of makeup during the day or to be able to do my makeup on the way to work. Don’t worry, I take the train! No penalties for applying eyeliner in my rear view mirror, thank you very much!! Added to this, everytime I go away for a night/weekend/holiday I never seem to have enough space or the right type of bag to fit what I need. So now I seem to have a collection for all eventualities, I thought I’d give you a tour of my makeup bags!
Bobbi Brown Organiser Generally for holiday use, I did a packing challenge here if you want to see how I organise my Organiser! // Bobbi Brown Makeup Bag Another great one for every day, quite flimsy but can fit quite a bit in it. Is also great to just store lip products and a powder to top up with during the day. // Anya Hindmarch makeup bag The one I treated myself to at Christmas. Love the brush section separate to your makeup. Also, a deceptively large amount of space! // ‘N’ Alphabet Bag Another Christmas gift, from my Auntie who I think sneakily saw a wishlist/tweet from me saying how much I wanted this! Perfect for day to day use. // Marks & Spencer spotty makeup bag Another gift from my Auntie. Again she knew I wanted a separate bag for my brushes when travelling and this is the perfect size! Love to neural colours too! // Cath Kidston small makeup bag This has been well used since I’ve had it a few years. I have a full collection of Cath Kidston travel and wash bags in this design, but this is another I can reach for for daily essentials.
Do you have a small army of makeup bags too? Tweet or Instagram me and show me! You know how nosey I like to be! 😀
I’ve had a love/hate relationship with Primark over the years. I remember when I was 12 and was getting ready to go on a school activity trip to Wales (gorge walking, rock climbing orienteering and such like) and my Mom had gone and bought me a load of Primark joggers and casual sporty stuff for me to take and to not worry about ruining when doing the activities. I was mortified!! I knew that everyone else would be in their Kappa and Adidas ‘popper’ trackies and I totally didn’t want to be the one in Primark own brand sportswear! In the end I think in conceded and took the stuff with me, but I remember not being happy about it.
